The Hotel Saratoga has opened it's doors again on November 01, 2005 on the original site where the old hotel was in the 30’s. Located on the privileged corner of Prado Avenue and Dragones Street; it is just in front of the National Capitol and Fraternity Park, and near the Partagas cigar factory and the Grand Theatre of Havana. The old hotel was part of the cultural life of its time in a zone called “Aires Libres” (Feeling-Free) of Old Havana. Many well-known Cuban personalities visited the renowned hotel and added to it great prestige. Imagine: It was here in 1932 that the famous “Anacaona” female orchestra of popular music was formed. The new elegant neoclassic construction, which was supervised by the Historical Office of the City of Havana, engulfed the original façade of the three-storey old building but adding two more “facade line windows” for a total outer appearance of five floors. but the inside modern structure has eight floors. The new construction, erected from its new foundations, has reproduced the style of a neoclassical original building, such as its central vestibule, large windows of French carpentry, and a magnificent 270 degree panoramic terrace-view. To the north you see the Bay of Havana and the “San Carlos de la Cabańa” old fortress and to the southwest a panoramic view of the National Capitol and other distant zones of Old Havana. There is a swimming pool at the lookout roof of this hotel with a snack bar and facilities for banquettes up to 60 persons. A business center is located at the mezzanine of this hotel with four computers, one fax machine, and 3 small meeting rooms. This business centre and ALL ROOMS at this hotel have direct Internet access.
