Hotel Inglaterra - Old Havana
The Hotel Inglaterra has as much character as any hotel in all of Cuba. It is the oldest hotel in Cuba and opened in 1875. It has 83 rooms and is located in the center of Old Havana near the theater and El Capitolio. This colonial-style hotel is made of wood and ceramic tile. You will enjoy the stained glass windows and the detailed work that went it to it's elaborate ceiling. The Inglaterra is beautiful. It's a great place to take a break from the hustle of central Havana. Just sit outside and watch the world go by. Ask for a room with a balcony overlooking Parque Central. It's unforgettable.
Standard rooms differ in size, though many are rather spacious. Each of the three floors has 15 rooms with a balcony. Rooms have views of Central Park or the courtyard. The latest renovation of the Inglaterra introduced modern fabrics and décor to this historic hotel. Fortunately, the original tiled floor was maintained. Rooms have large bathrooms with shower (no bathtub) toilet, and sink.
